2015 is set to be another monster year in rock! Some exciting album releases from bands past and present will be unleashed, along with tour and festival announcements that will make your bank account hit zero in no time! Let’s see what’s in store for the year ahead…
In January alone we have the global juggernaut that is Fall Out Boy returning with their radio friendly, banger filled ‘American Beauty / American Psycho’. Let’s not forget about English Electronicore kings Enter Shikari and their new album ‘The Mindsweep’ which drops January 19th, new song ‘The Last Garrison’ is taking over UK radio as we speak!
Grindstore favourites Pierce The Veil and Sleeping With Sirens are currently taking over the world with a huge co-headline tour! Both bands should be unveiling new material along the way! Don’t forget to catch them in the UK this March!
One of our biggest selling bands, All Time Low are back! After the huge announcement of their new album ‘Future Hearts’ and the unveiling of new track ‘Something’s Gotta Give’ – this should be a huge year for the Baltimore boys! We are off to see them pack out Wembley Arena in March for their DVD recording show, but you can catch them alongside brit rockers You Me At Six touring the UK arenas in February!
It could be a big year for Black Veil Brides, coming off of the huge success of their latest album ‘Black Veil Brides IV’ (and scooping up FIVE Grindstore Awards in 2014!) they will be high-up on the Second Stage at Download Festival this summer to show the UK fans what they are made of.
Speaking of Download Festival – Slipknot take over the headline slot for the third time along with Muse! Motley Crue will play one of their final ever UK shows before global superstars KISS close out the festival on the Sunday. Also on the bill is one of our favourite live acts – A Day To Remember! Marilyn Manson returns to the main stage on the Saturday, armed with new (and always interesting) material. Enter Shikari should wake everyone up on the last day as they hit the Main Stage early, with Slash appearing later in the day! Rise Against, Motionless In White, Parkway Drive, Crown The Empire, Mallory Knox and loads more will all appear across the weekend and we cannot wait!
If you can’t afford a weekend ticket for Download or Reading/Leeds, the day festivals are always a treat! Slam Dunk and Hit The Deck never fail to disappoint and we are eagerly awaiting an announcement from both camps. Takedown Festival in Southampton features a headline slot from UK rockers Mallory Knox, who have been all over the radio and magazines in 2014!
There are rumours of long awaited album releases from Axl’s Guns N Roses, as well as an 18-year wait for new Faith No More material potentially becoming a reality by the summer, especially as they are playing Download Festival in June.
So, what else can we expect? Danny Worsnop’s We Are Harlot – a pet project where he aims to re-create the rock n roll antics of the likes of Van Halen & Aerosmith in the 80’s, could finally surface this year! We are certainly intrigued!
Rising UK bands, such as ‘Kerrang! Tour’ headliners Don Broco and American conqueror’s Young Guns can be expected to release their eagerly anticipated albums this spring. Welsh favourites and Pop-Punk superstars of the future Neck Deep are currently smashing through the recording of album 2 – sure to surface in time for festival season!
So, who can we see out on tour in 2015? Gerard Way will be crossing the pond next week to treat us to ‘Hesitant Alien’ live! Of Mice & Men are ready to destroy your ears in late March after spectacular performances supporting Linkin Park. Foo Fighters are going global and they’re dragging Royal Blood along for the ride! Prodigy, Papa Roach, Crown The Empire, Frank Iero, While She Sleeps, Cancer Bats and many more can be seen up and down the UK…and these are only the confirmed tours, there will be TONNES more to come!
What about the unanswered questions? Will Limp Bizkit ever finish ‘Stampede of Disco Elephants’? Will Bring Me The Horizon treat us to a new album after the success of ‘Drown’? Can Blink 182 keep individual projects under control to complete their new album? Will System Of A Down finally record new music after a decade of waiting?
