On 1st April, Deaf Havana kicked off their UK tour at the UEA in Norwich and we went along for the ride!
The band’s front-man James Veck-Gilodi celebrated his birthday the day before, so the Grindstore team handed him a package of birthday gifts themed on the TV show ‘The Office’ as he is a huge fan of David Brent.
Here’s James showing off his prezzies!
The opening show was packed out by the home-town crowd and the usually grumpy James was noticeably more cheerful as he smiled through a variety of songs from the latest album ‘Old Souls’ and the previous ‘Fools And Worthless Liars’. Not only that but we were treated to an updated version of ‘Nicotine and Alcohol Saved My Life’ from their first album ‘Meet Me Halfway, At Least.’
The highlight had to be the sing-along of the home-town favourite ‘Hunstanton Pier’ which was dedicated to the crowd by James.
