A big hello to the Grindstore Army! I hope you’re all having a rocking start to 2011 and as we get into the swing of things; it’s time to take a look at some of the highly anticipated festivals and gigs coming up over the next twelve months.
Whether you are a fan of punk metal Cancer Bats or the epic Metallica, you are guaranteed to find a festival to rock your socks off. Here are a few of the biggest and best rock festivals around as well as some of the newer line ups getting ready to take on the rock scene.
Revving up the engines of the festival season on 10th June is the almighty ear bashing that is Download, coming once again from the one and only Donington Park. With confirmed acts including System of a Down, Linkin Park, Avenged
Sevenfold and Rob Zombie, this iconic rock gathering is guaranteed to be one of the biggest and loudest events of the summer.
8th July sees the start of the hard rocking Sonisphere festival; live from Knebworth House, and 2011 looks set to host one of the best line up’s to date. With confirmed sets from the “Big Four” of thrash metal – otherwise known as Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax, Sonisphere 2011 is guaranteed to have you mopping up your brains off the floor as you treat your ears to the musical masterpieces of the godfathers of metal.
Bringing the festival season to a close on 26th – 28th August is the one and only Reading and Leeds, one household name, two massive venues and enough musical talent to keep you rocking into 2012. To tickle your finely tuned taste buds, here are some of the big names rumoured to storm the stages across Reading and Leeds; Muse, My Chemical Romance, Pulp, The Prodigy, The Strokes and Frank Turner. To date, these names are yet to be confirmed so keep your ears open and your eyes peeled for more updates from Grindstore.
